ARORA HILLS CORN MAZE WINS MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT IN MARKETING EXCELLENCE AWARD!
CLARKSBURG, MD – ARORA HILLS, one of Montgomery County’s top-selling master-planned communities, was honored with a prestigious Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Award for “Best Special Promotion or Event” for their annual charity corn maze benefiting Hospice Caring, Inc. of Montgomery County.
Alan Stackman, Senior Vice President of The Artery Group, who along with Beazer Homes is developing the community, states “It is an honor to be recognized by our industry for creating a family-friendly event that benefited a wonderful charity. The response was so great that we plan to make this an annual event while we are developing the community.”
The land for the maze and all of the advertising to promote the charity event were donated by the community’s developers and builders Beazer Homes, K. Hovnanian Homes, and Ryan Homes. “We wanted to provide residents of Montgomery County and surrounding areas and the ARORA HILLS community with a fun and affordable activity, while at the same time helping Hospice Caring, Inc.”, said Mr. Stackman. Creating Results, a strategic marketing firm based in Occoquan, Virginia, oversaw all marketing, public relations and advertising activities associated with the successful event. Over 2,600 area residents, friends, families, scout troops, and educational and church groups came out last fall to enjoy the autumn weather as they made their way through the challenging, house-shaped maze. The event raised $6,500 for Hospice Caring, Inc.
Mr. Stackman added that the outdoor event was in keeping with the “back to nature” theme of the community. “In designing ARORA HILLS, we set out to create a vibrant community that would provide residents with an array of home choices, amenities, and activities, while preserving the natural beauty of the land. As a result of our efforts, winding streams, rolling hills, and acres of open space are there for the residents to enjoy. We wanted people to not only have a beautiful home to live in, but a wonderful community to come home to.”
